Ever fallen into a decision vortex?
Hello!
This week was a wild adventure in a vortex all about decisions. I thought it would be fun to share with you how I fell into the vortex, and some of the highlights that led to insights about decisions and why it’s important we make them even if we might regret them.
Warning: I am spotlighting things that happened this week, mostly in my mind. 😆 So this is not going to be a fully sequential and logical narrative. I am using the headings as guideposts to understand what triggered a thought or action, and I hope you’re down to go along for the journey with me!

This week, there was a question stuck in my mind
Did I make the wrong decision closing down my business?
How the question got there
I keep thinking about how to make Rekindle into a business, or part of a business. Which, I truly wasn’t sure if that would happen or not. A big question I had when I started Rekindle was, Would I be satisfied with this as a creative outlet that is not tied to any business endeavor? A month in and I’m highly leaning towards the answer to that being, “no.” I think that for me, being entrepreneurial enhances my experience of being creative. Which, naturally led me to question why I gave that up in the past.
Big discovery #1
I discovered that I had been making passive income off of decision-making guidebooks I had published on my site before I closed my business. Some background here: I have been locked out of my Stripe account because it was tied to an email address and Google Workspace that I shut down when I closed my business (oops!). I finally got access this week so I could transfer $43.93 that was trapped there into my bank account. While I was in my Stripe account, I discovered there had been a steady stream of “Paid!” statuses during an 8-month period I had the guidebooks live but before closing my business. Seriously, when I saw that I was like, “WHAT?!” I do not remember knowing that these things were actually making money. How did I not know? Or, maybe worse, if I did know back then, how did I not care?! It wasn’t a lot of money, only about ~$50/month, but it was completely passive.
Decision I made this week
I would love to be making ~$50 of passive income now! Let me get that system back up and running.
